2017 Toyota Camry Hybrid Review

As the Camry has not been interesting and attractive midsize sedan, 2017 Toyota Camry Hybrid gets new hybrid engine under the hood. That is the main changes from the last models, so Toyota kept the same design and size as on the previous model, hoping that old buyers will be attracted by new engine solution. We can say that it is still elegant and luxury classic sedan, with many modern devices in the cabin and better-designed interior. The most important thing, the new engine has decreased fuel consumption while the manufacturer has not used extra space for the hybrid engine, which is a big plus for sedans with hybrids.

Exterior

It is important to say that 2017 Toyota Camry Hybrid has not changed much from the last model in term of exterior design, so it is still attractive and elegant mid-size sedan. The front end has improved front lights, with LED technology as the daily lights incorporated in it, and small thin fog lights at the sides of the front bumper. However, there is still amazing wide trapezoidal air intake with gridded front grille and simple flat hood. The rear end is also well designed, with new taillights and few curved lines pointed with chromatic thick over them.

Interior

2017 Toyota Camry Hybrid should not be so interesting that manufacturer has not put everything it has to make the cabin comfort and enjoyable for driving. There are adjustable leathered seats which, in combination with great technology, make every driving with this car amazing.

Engine

However, the most important thing about 2017 Toyota Camry Hybrid, because of the new technology used there and new hybrid engine placed under the hood is fuel economy. Unfortunately, Camry did not pass all tests manufacturer put it on, so we can say that its 2.5-liter V6 Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine together with the nickel-metal-hybrid motor is not among the best in term of fuel economy. It is beaten by Honda Accent and Chevrolet Malibu, mostly because of their much lightweight lithium-ion battery pack, with better performances. Even the increasing time of 7.2 seconds is slightly slower than on competitors, which could be disappointing for new buyers. Noteworthy, it is good to mention 141 horsepower of strength and much longer duration among the hybrid engines, proven in past years.
