2020 Toyota Camry represents only a continuation of the model that is fully redesigned two years ago. Since the last redesign happened so soon, the manufacturer has not improved it significantly. However, there will be offered a new trim version called TRD, which should be interesting and attractive to sporty models’ fans.
- The model has an interesting range of engines, including the hybrid one.
- There is a new sporty trim version called TRD.
- The model is not changed in design from the last year.
- There are no interesting updates in the cabin.
There are no significant changes in the design of the 2020 Toyota Camry, as we were able to see so far. Is this the model that could compete with Toyota Celica? We are not sure, but sporty design, at least in some of trims points on that. Most of them have been made in order to achieve the design of the sporty sedan front end and short but wide rear end. TRD version will be sportier and includes a spoiler on the trunk door.
There should not be changes in the cabin of 2020 Toyota Camry this time. The 2018 model had numerous changes in design and especially equipment, so they have not changed this model significantly from that version.
The only we were able to confirm is new Safety Sense P model, that includes great safety and driving assistant applications, like automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and adaptive cruise control. TDR version, again, comes with significant upgrades in design, mostly in order to provide sportier and modernized cabin design.
There is the same offer in engines in 2020 Toyota Camry as on the last year model. It includes few very interesting combinations of the engines, though. The base model comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with the 203 horsepower of strength and 184 pound-feet of torque.
If this not appeals to you enough, you should consider a 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine with 301 horsepower of strength and 267 pound-feet of torque. Both come in combination with the eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel driving system.
However, hybrid fans will be also pleased with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that comes in combination with the electric engine for powerful production of 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque.
There should also be one more strong engine for buyers extremely interested in speed and strength. You will be able to match the electric motor with a 3.5-liter V6 model, too. There are obvious similarities with the Toyota Alphard, at least in engine strength.
2020 Toyota Camry Release Date and Price
The production of 2020 Toyota Camry should start in August, while the final version of it should be on the market in October. However, we do not expect major changes in the price since nothing particularly is changed from the last year model. It means that this model will still have the price in the same range from $24,000 to $35,000. The new trim version, TRD will obviously cost a little more, since it includes 3.5-liter V6 engine and numerous upgrades in design.
