2020 Toyota Corolla comes as fully redesigned model after years of driving on the same design and with the old engines, and a year after the manufacturer releases redesigned hatchback version of it. The changes in the new sedan are almost those that we expected to see, mostly in design, with great improvements in the equipment.
- The driving should be smoother which is more than we expect from the sedans.
- There is new equipment in the cabin.
- The model is not much changed in exterior design from the competition.
- The rear row is slightly tighter than is expected in sedans.
2020 Toyota Corolla is fully redesigned and changed, so this time it is similar to the competition in the class. However, the main change is in the design of the front and rear ends, which are now wider and decorated with a few curved lines. You should release differences between the base model and few sportier trim options, which come along with the spoiler on the trunk door, too. However, the manufacturer has changed the TNGA platform, which comes as upgrades, and spoiler that should provide smoother driving on every terrain.
The cabin in 2020 Toyota Corolla offers great novelties and upgrades in technology. Although wide enough for a sedan, the rear row is described as slightly tight for a family sedan, so expect small space behind the driver. However, in term of technology, the manufacturer is proud of the new air climate system, which turns outside air to the fresh and filtered inside the cabin. On the other hand, there is a great upgraded safety system, the famous Toyota Sense system and changes in entertainments.
According to the manufacturer, they will not significantly change the engines that come with 2020 Toyota Corolla from the hatchback version that is made in 2019. So, accordingly, with the hatchback, we expect that new Corolla will have three engines in the offer. The base model comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol unit that produces 168 horsepower of strength and 151 pound-feet of torque.
The higher option is a 1.8-liter four-cylinder petrol model with 139 horsepower of strength and 128 pound-feet of torque. There will be a hybrid version of the engine, too, compiled of 1.8-liter petrol unit and an electric engine by clubbing together for 121 horsepower. This engine is used on the current Toyota Prius. All engines should be paired with ten-speed automatic transmission as the new technology in an automatic transmission.
2020 Toyota Corolla Release Date and Price
Since there were no changes that will seriously affect the price, expect that the 2020 Toyota Corolla will cost around $20,000 which was the price of the last model. However, with additions and equipment, it is for sure that the price will go higher than $25,000, so be prepared on that, too. The final releasing date is in summer, while the production starts from the fall.
