2021 Chevrolet Malibu comes as the old model, with no many changes in design and shape. It means that we could see only a few new details, while the overall look is the same as years before. The full redesign should happen in 2024, so we should be patient for the new model a few years more.
- The model has an excellent design and overall look.
- There are two very lovely engines in offer.
- Safety testes have not organized yet, so do not have information about it.
- The design has not been changed for a long time.
Since the last redesign happened in 2016, we expected novelties in this model. Unfortunately, they have not improved it much so that we could see almost the same design as before. It includes a sporty look and coupe-like shape of the trunk.
If you see similarities with Honda Accord, you will be right, since the front end has almost the same shape and design. When it comes to the roof, it sleek and rounded and drops on the short rear end. The manufacturer has made an effort to make it closer to models in class like Hyundai Sonata.
The cabin inside of 2021 Chevrolet Malibu is the same as before, and we could say pretty much traditional and old-fashioned. It has an excellent and large touchscreen in the center of the dashboard, with a simple HVAC interface and great and modern air vents. If you order higher trim, you can get Jet Black interior design, with leather on the seats and ventilation on them.
We saw it in the model last year, so have reasons to expect a great look and usage of them. The manufacturer has not saved on technology, adding an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple Car Play, and Android Auto, Bluetooth connection, and a six-speaker audio system. They should beat up competition that includes Toyota Camry, which always had proper equipment.
2021 Chevrolet Malibu Engine
It is for sure that 2021 Chevrolet Malibu will not get anything new under the hood, so expect the same options as before. It means the basic model will have a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 163 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. If you want a more reliable and more powerful model, you can have a 2.0-liter turbocharged version with 250 horsepower.
It comes with nine-speed automatic transmission, while the lower model comes with the CVT version. Unfortunately, buyers still cannot get the information about the quality of the safety system since they have not finished all-important testes. They got reasonable rates for front-crash prevention test, though, and enhanced safety braking system works well. All of these comes unchanged from last year’s model.
2021 Chevrolet Malibu Release Date and Price
The price will not significantly change from last year, so 2021 Chevrolet Malibu should cost around $25,000 if you buy it without equipment. However, the higher trims could have a price of $35,000, which is still very good for this class. The model will arrive later this year.
